I was wondering if anyone has been lied to by there shrink regarding Tardive Dyskinesia. I have never experienced a more deceitful type of person and would like to know if others have had a similar experience.

Hi David, Yes I have been lied to also. It's a hard situation, because I needed medication at the time, yet was not told about the side effects. When I first was having signs of Tardive Dyskinesia, the shrink in my case, said don't worry about it( I didn't know what it was)It was getting worse and she wouldnt change my med. Finally last Jan,my sister went with me,and got her to change it,but the damage was done and I don't know if it will ever go away. I had a reply to my post on copeing with td,That Quercetin is helping him,and I will try it after talking to my nerve Dr. I feel betrayed by the shrink, yet there is nothing I can do and though I do feel angry sometimes, have to leave the past and deal with the present.I hope this helps and would like to hear what happened to you as well.I like others,am just looking for a way to live with it,and make it better somehow. At least we can support each other on sites like this and hopefully there will be a cure and people will respect us,for what we are going through. I wish you the best,Dee
