I am 3-4 years into MSA. My original diagnosis was ALS and after that, I received several other diagnosis. I feel that I know more about MSA/ALS than my local hospitals and have been in and out of local ER's with chest pain symtoms that appear to be MSA related. Has anyone else experienced chest pains with their MSA???? I have had a heart attack (angioplasty w/stint) and 4 pulmonary embolism's (Filter was finally put in recently), so when I go into the ER with chest pain, another heart attack or embolism have to rulled out and then after morphine injections, the pain subsides and I am sent home with a morphine prescription. I am totally depressed about my disease and my ER visits with no answers as to why I continue to experience chest pain. It appears that I am quickly losing lung function and rely on a bi-pap, THE VEST, and my oxygen tank daily. If anyone else with MSA/ALS is experiencing similar symptoms, please respond.

Hi, I am really late on reading this, but yes, i have heart pain and have had many blood clots removed, been in rehab due to strokes, and that was when I was in my forties, but since on coumadin for many years, the doctors, after an hospice stay, I came out without the blood clots or bleeding problems I had been diag. with. I am living as a miracle to my family and friends..God is good for sure. But, now, after a year after hospice, I do have heart symptoms again, went over a year without the pain. I have a lot of blood problems that change, but don't really relate to the MSA..I always have been told it is all separate issues. My eyes don't move anymore, up nor down, and seeing right is still in tact, kinda, but my left eye will not move left anymore. Blurring and double vision, and vertically too if off. Very strange, but my eyes hurt because my eyelids aren't staying closed, a lot of eye drops for sure. Just letting you know about how MSA has affected me. Take care and know Jerry life is MSA..Most shared Attention...for us, we know what is happening, and it is just sometimes to hard, but think on the better days is all I can do most of these days...Therese

I'm 10 yrs into MSA but still function fairly well. I also had angioplasty and have chest pains whenever I try to do anything physical. I am under care of a Cardiologist and a Neurol. who specializes in autonomic disease. I undestand that it isn't rare to have chest pain. I haven't found any relief except to rest when they get too bad. Hope your Dr.s can come up w/something to help. Take care, God bless.
