Can myoclonus manifest itself as a tremor instead of a twitch? I haven't been diagnosed with any neurological disorder, but I have everything that describes stimulus sensitive myoclonus. However, if I'm extremely startled or perform certain actions such as turning my head all the way to one side, my head will shake intensely for a fraction of second in no-no direction. Can this be a symptom of myoclonus, or is it caused by a different medical condition?

My guess would be that this is a further manifestation of your myoclonus. I've suffered from what is probably a form of myoclonus for a little over two years. Mostly I have hard jerks in my back between my shoulder blades, but along the way I also began having tremors in my left leg and also in my hips. Maybe a year into this my jerks would sometimes be more of a vomiting motion that included the sound one would make -- weird. And this year I've had three surgeries on my eye for a detached retina and after the second I started to have twitches in that eye -- this has gone away now.

So, I do think that my condition has changed over time. And over time the things that set off my symptoms have also changed. First it was laying down in bed at night. Then sitting in a chair in the evening. Riding in the car. Walking on hard surfaces. Turning my upper body slightly while otherwise sitting straight or just turning my head one direction. Later even someone turning on a light unexpectedly or a sudden noise -- however, these last two have gone away.

This is my first post on this board. It is difficult having this health issue, and it would be nice if there was more activity on this board. But, I certainly prefer this to be a rare condition and a quiet board as opposed to having more people afflicted with this condition.
