Restless Legs Syndrome Treatments

Can Restless Legs Syndrome Be Treated?

The treatment of restless legs syndrome may be challenging and often requires a variety of measures including lifestyle changes, certain self-directed activities, and, in some cases, drug (pharmacologic) therapy. It is essential that any treatment plan be carefully adapted to the patient's specific needs.

The goal of treatment for restless legs syndrome is to effectively eliminate the occurrence of troublesome symptoms during rest and, in some cases, sedentary activities, thereby reducing sleep disturbances, preventing daytime fatigue, and improving activities of daily living (ADL) and overall quality of life.
