Hi parents! I have a 2.5yo son who has had a very complex motor tic since he was 22mos old. He started with a vocal tic as well a few months later. EEG & MRA were negative, MRI showed dead tissue in the spinal cord (probably from lack of oxygen being a preemie)- Supposedly unrelated to the movement disorder though. We are trying to get in to see a movement specialist at CHOP (PA)still. He is still a few months away from being able to officially diagnose tourette's but shows all the symptoms. He is very young for this to start and it is a very complex movement- happens several times a day. I have 2 questions - 1/anyone have any experience with tics/TS this young? I know there is a chance he could grow out of it as well... 2/I've noticed some other odd behaviors and wondered if it's related to TS. He doesn't get real interested in his toys/playgrounds like other kids but often is very happy running around the room doing his tic. It does not seem to be stress-related- maybe boredom... Thanks for any advice.
